Cars in the future

Today the ranking of the car marks is well defined but the definition of luxury car will completely change and the companies have to establish itself new. But what exactly will/ could happen?

State of the art

Today the automobile industry already has several new ideas for new engines from the electric motor to fuel cells but most of our cars still use the petrol engine although with a few modifications. But of the new concepts the electric motor has the highest popularity, Tesla
cars are as fast as the normal ones. The main problem of electric cars is that the infrastructure of our world didn't already changed enough so drivers have to plan their routes very precisely that they get to their target because of the small range their cars have. The commercial use of fuel cells hasn't even started jet. At the moment there is no real way to travel with a fuel cell driven car.

Engine in the future

All the signs are that the electric motor is the engine in the future and so I think. The fuel cell is a great concept but it is too difficult to produce hydrogen for billions of cars while you can get energy from any resource like solar, fossil fuels or the water. In addition to that the storage batteries will get smaller and smaller so they can store more energy per space.
Another very interesting point is the question how they will drive. I think that fully rounded wheels are the wheels of the future. The main advantage of a car with these wheels is that it can drive in any direction with nearly the same speed. The company Goodyear presented the first one on the motor show in Geneva.

Autonomous driving/ networking

The cars of the future will be able to drive autonomous but the problem on the way to this is that we probably don't want to lose the wheel. Today we categorise autonomous driving in 5 levels which means that we stay on level 2 and around 2020 on level 3. Level 2 means that the car can drive semiautomatic; it is able to park itself and has several helpful functions for travelling on the highway. The difference between level 2 and 3 is that in level two are these functions improved and the driver doesn't even have to indicate. On level 4 our cars can completely drive on their owns but there still is the possibility to let the driver drive whereas cars of level 5 don't have a wheel any longer. 
In addition to that cars in level 4 and 5 will be completely cross-linked in the environment.

Car as touchscreen

The interior of level 4 and 5 will be used as a big touchscreen and working surface for the passengers. In addition to that the glass windshield will be used to analyse the whole environment and show the important information on a Head-up display. The interior changes to a workspace in cars of level 4 and 5. 

Conclusion

So as you can see the cars will change and in the future we will get driven which will be a big change for most of us.
