Planes in the future

Everyone who lives near an airport knows how annoying the noise can turn. This article shows you the future of planes and airports.

Flying wings

A very promising concept is the flying wings, a tailless aircraft which technology crew and any other equipment is stored in the wings. Today the probably most famous flying wing is the American B2 Spirit, a stealth bomber.

The advantages of this concept are the high boost which arises because
the whole plane is a wing and. Moreover flying wings will be much more quite than normal planes because the engines could be placed on the wings so the wings themselves absorb the sound.

The design could also be combined with electric motors so they get even more quiet and depending on how the power is produced into no emission aircrafts.

Mach 4, 5

Flying quiet and efficient is good but what about fast? One engine concept is most promising to win this challenge, the ramjet, an engine that compresses a gas just by the high speed of it. It is also very efficient and doesn't produce any emission. But the problem is that these jets only work when the aircraft is already fast so they cannot work alone. So to start the aircraft normal engines would be needed, the Airbus group decided to use two.

Two concepts in the future

These two concepts are completely different including the persons who use them. Some people say that in the future we will have to decide between these two but I think that they can exist next to each other.

I can imagine that the first type will be able to carry nearly 1500 people and is comparable with today’s cruise liners. This type will be used by tourists they want to see where they are travelling and so the aircrafts will have lots of leisure time facilities like a pools, tennis courts or crazy golf places.

The other type will be used by people who want to travel as fast as possible, for example businessmen. On a flight with a plane like this you don't see a lot because the aircraft flies in a height of about 30 kilometres but it's also not necessary to see because a flight from London to New York will only take an hour, or the flight from Brussel to Sydney about 5 hours.

Conclusion

The technology of the future will make it possible to create two or more types of planes for commercial usage with different abilities and for different persons.
